Congratulations Gen Y Grads
24 May 2010
Whew! At long last, the Mercury retrograde (when Mercury appears to be traveling backwards) ended about a week ago. Now that my head’s a bit clearer… OK, any excuse will do for an aging Boomer. Time does indeed march on.
Graduation season is here and many Gen Y’ers, born in the early 90’s, will be getting those long awaited high school diplomas, all revved up to move on to bigger and better things. Some call this generation the echo of the Boomers, but astrologically, they are quite different. The Stars indicate that you Gen Y’ers may well succeed in straightening out some of the mess we old Boomers made.
Since the outer planets, Uranus (rules Aquarius). Neptune (rules Pisces), and Pluto (rules Scorpio) remain in a given sign for many years their influence marks the characteristics of a generation. Gen Y’ers born in 1991-1992 have both Uranus, the planet of innovation and far-sightedness, and Neptune, the planet of instinct and intuition in Capricorn. You Gen Y’ers are slated to facilitate profound changes in financial policies and spending. Your generation will likely be marked by its efforts and achievements in financial policies and spending.
Pluto the Powerful is in its home sign Scorpio. For some, Pluto is at a very optimum angle with Neptune giving you an extra measure of strength and resilience to seek out and exploit resources to further your beliefs and goals.
Yes, you Gen Y’ers have got your work cut out for you, but chances are you will succeed in making some far-reaching changes in financial matters. Hope I’m still around to see them. Wishing you guys all the very best!

The Karma of Power, Money & Revolution
1 March 2010
Pluto, the planet of power, moved into Capricorn on 25 January 2008 and will remain there until 23 March 2023. Pluto’s influence, like the mythological god of the underworld, has a way of digging up, exposing issues and forcing us to deal with them. Pluto represents transformation, destruction, creation, regeneration, healing (not always pleasant), renewal, power struggles, and upheaval. It takes Pluto 200 plus years to make its way through all 12 signs of the Zodiac. So no one alive today remembers the last time Pluto was in Capricorn from 1762-1779. But we have more than likely studied the historical events somewhere along the line.
However, before looking at the history and some recent events, let’s take a look at Capricorn’s qualities-what Pluto is likely to dig up during the next 23 years. Capricorn represents authority and restrictions. It’s about responsibility, accounting, self-discipline, loyalty, ambition, resourcefulness-nose to the grindstone and getting it done-and it better balance! At its worst, Capricorn can be dictatorial, distrusting (If you want it done, do it yourself.) and stingy.
The period from 1762-1779 is marked by upheaval and rebellion against authorities and governments. Some of these rebellions were based on ideas of the European Enlightenment of the previous century, when Pluto was in Sagittarius, the sign of higher ideals.
- 1762: Russian tsarina Catharine II (Catherine The Great) seizes the throne, claiming to want to free the serfs but decides otherwise after a serf rebellion.
- 1767: Boundary of the Mason Dixon line, agreed upon, division between North & South, slave & free states in the USA-first attempt to preserve the American Union in face of the evils of slavery.
- 1772: King Gustav III of Sweden completes his coup d'etat by adopting a new Constitution, ending parliamentary rule installing himself as an enlightened despot.
- 1773: Massachusetts slaves petition legislature for freedom.
Later that same year, The Big Tea party in Boston Harbor-colonists’ rebellion against British tea tax.
- 1776: The American Declaration of Independence is ratified & the US gains independence from Britain.
- 1776: Adam Smith publishes The Wealth of Nations, One of the book's main themes is the concept of an invisible hand, what we’s call Karma now days, that naturally guides a society through self-interest.
Smith’s Wealth of Nations reflects very well the spirit of the times-societies and individuals in authority mobilizing their powers to take matters in hand, creating
a system they deem beneficial.
Since Pluto entered Capricorn in January 2008, we’ve seen some serious digging up in the economic arena:
Bernie Madoff faced the music in 2008 after several would-be whistle blowers had been ignored for many years.
The impending
mortgage crisis came to a head in 2008 exposing financial irresponsibility of previous years.
Two good examples of apparently great economic prosperity being destroyed. Wonder what regeneration we’ll see? These should be interesting times.

Happy Birthday Aquarians Feeling Weighed-Down?
16 February 2010
Happy Birthday, Aquarians! Are you feeling a bit weighed down? Lots going on in your head? Feeling a need to perfect things? No wonder. Your sign is loaded with planets now. So your head will be busy for awhile. Careful, though. Your friendly yet aloof analytical nature may backfire. Mars, in retrograde (appears to be travelling backwards) is opposite your sun in egotistical, aggressive Aries. Take care to keep things in proportion. Focus on practicality and exactitude.

Back To The Old Grind
8 January 2010
The Winter Holiday Season is well behind us. We've just finished the first
full work week of the New Year-back in the old familiar grind. At last the week end is here, giving us a little rest and respite from the post-holidays slump. And the Stars are ever moving and influencing.
Moon is in determined, powerful, mysterious Scorpio this weekend at a very optimum angle with Sun in ambitious, conservative, methodical Capricorn. On the grand scale, this is an excellent time to reflect on and plan strategies for financial success - also a great time to seek out those who could give good advice, especially within the family.
Be on the lookout though for aggressiveness from those who see themselves as authority figures. Stand your ground, don't be dazzled and concentrate on long range goals.
Peace & Prosperity

Happy New Year Boom or Bust
30 December 2009
Was 2009 a tough year? Was it any tougher or easier than any other year or were you just so caught up in the day to day that you already don't remember? Frankly, I don't remember any year being particularily tough or easy. But when I do think back on 2009, or any year for that matter, certain characterics stand out for each year.
Enter influence of the Stars. Note the word influence. The Stars do not decide our future, rather they lay a general framework-for better or worse. So what can we expect in 2010?
On a grand scale, 2010 is likely be a year of restrictions. Generally understanding of our challenges is good and we have the abiity to analyze, figure out what needs to be done and should have the versatility to put things in order. Unfortunately, things are likely to get bogged down in the practical implementation. But the Stars can be gracious, giving us clear indication what the major focus of 2010 should be. In a word-focus. In the big picture, 2010 should be a year for focusing on and understanding issues behind and beneath the issues.
Don't discount the emotional. Seek it out, focus on and try to understand it. We humans often react from deep-seated feelings and/or fears, be they real or imagined. Only by dealing with the inner issues will we meet the challenges of 2010's restrictive character.
Finally, on a more positive note. 2010 could well be a year of far-reaching innovations, especially in High-Tech/Communications. Furthermore these innovations are likely to have a strenghtening effect on the overall economic development. Let's hope so!
Happy New Year!
Wishing all Health, Peace & Prosperity
Throughout the New Year,
-Paula
